Book Review:Dead In The Family by Charlaine Harris
(no spoilers)

This is Book 10 in the Sookie Stackhouse series, the books that True Blood on HBO is based off of. Books 1-8 I loved and read long before the tv show. Book 9 was eeh, but it seemed necessarily to tie up lose ends, so I fully expected Book 10 to be back on track. Especially with more of Eric! It was horrible! The first 3/4's were so boring, I easily asborbed it while reading, watching tv, and yelling at the kids to be quiet. I'm a little offended I paid money for this, something I rarely do for a book. I don't know if it's because the author is whinding down the series or it's the influence of it now being a tv show, but something special is gone. It was never the most intelligent read, but it was always fun and interesting and you at least cared what happen or wondered. What a let down! This was just a bunch of nothing. About the only thing I did like was where Bill's story went. Even Jason was a snore.

  1. Oh no. :( I've been eagerly awaiting it. :( Is it at least worth the time? If not the money? I'm on the library waiting list. Sigh...

  2. I couldn't imagine not reading it if you've read the whole series, but paying for it, definitely not. I did sell it for $7 on half.com and paid $10, so not to to bad.
